Amid rising tension with China, Indian Peop intelligence agencies have flagged 52 Chinese Apps, which have direct links to china’ these apps are detrimental towards national security.
Indian government Banned 52 Chinese Application?
The list includes social media platforms like TikTok and goes live. The list of applications sent by the security establishment to the government includes sharing it, Clean-Master, and UC browser but out of all the apps. Zoom received special focus initially the video conferencing getting in trend during the lockdown situation. The video conferencing services have been getting heavy traffic since the lockdown in the whole world.
These companies are very smart the spent high money on marketing their Chinese app for a positive response in India. Interestingly, all these apps come pre-bundled in Xiaomi and other Chinese smartphone. Xiaomi is India’s largest smartphone seller capturing 30% of the total smartphone sales in the first quarter of 2020.
Recently, its browser was found to be collecting from user data even in incognito mode. But India is not the first nation to issue such a warning previously Huawei has banned in the U.S. by the government for a similar concern. Countries like Canada, Newzealand banned Huawei from building the 5g network in their countries.
Indian intelligence agencies have advised the government to stop using 52 Chinese mobile applications in India. They are not secure and also they are extracting large amounts of data outside India. Some of the applications have very high popularity in the play store and also in the App store. Such as Zoom, Xendar, Tik Tok one of the fastest downloads, and also popular Chinese applications (Apps) on the internet.
