🎯 Post-Wise Eligibility & Qualification

Indian Railway has released vacancies for different types of qualifications. Check which post is perfect for you:

1. Railway Group D Posts

  • Posts: Trackman, Helper, Pointsman, Assistant.
  • Qualification: You must be a 10th-grade pass or have an ITI certificate from a recognized board.

2. NTPC Posts (Non-Technical)

  • For 12th Pass: Junior Clerk, Accounts Clerk, Ticket Clerk, Train Clerk.
  • For Graduates: Goods Guard, Traffic Assistant, and Assistant Station Master (ASM).

3. ALP & Technicians

📅 Age Limit & Relaxation Rules

To apply for railway jobs, candidates must fulfill the following age criteria:

  • Minimum Age: 18 Years
  • Maximum Age: 30 to 33 Years (Depending on the post)

Category-Wise Age Relaxation (Chhut):

  • OBC Candidates: 3 Years Relaxation
  • SC / ST Candidates: 5 Years Relaxation

💸 Application Fee Details

You have to pay the application fee online via UPI, net banking, or debit/credit card:

  • General / OBC / EWS: ₹500 (₹400 will be refunded after you appear in the CBT exam).
  • SC / ST / Female / PwD: ₹250 (Full ₹250 will be refunded after the exam).

📝 Selection Process: How to Get Selected?

The selection process of Indian Railways is completely transparent and fair. You have to qualify through these 4 stages:

  1. CBT Stage 1 (Computer-Based Test): This is a basic online exam for screening all candidates.
  2. CBT Stage 2 (Main Exam): Candidates who qualify CBT-1 will sit for this main exam.

To crack the online CBT exam, you need to know the exact syllabus. The exam contains 100 to 120 multiple-choice questions and the total time duration is 90 minutes.

Subject-Wise Weightage:

  • Mathematics: 30 Questions (Percentage, Profit & Loss, Time & Work, Algebra).
  • Reasoning & Intelligence: 30 Questions (Coding-Decoding, Blood Relations, and Syllogism).
  • General Science: 25 Questions (10th standard physics, chemistry, and biology).
  • General Awareness: 15 Questions (Current Affairs, Sports, History, Geography).

🚨 Warning – Negative Marking: There is a 1/3 negative marking in this exam. If you mark 3 wrong answers, 1 mark will be deducted from your total score. So, do not guess answers blindly!

  1. Step 1: Visit the official website of your regional RRB (links given below).
  2. Step 2: Click on the link “New Registration—CEN 2026.”
  3. Step 3: Enter your mobile number and email ID. Verify it with the OTP sent to you.
  4. Step 4: Login using your new registration ID and password.
  5. Step 5: Fill in your basic details like name, address, and educational qualifications.
  6. Step 6: Upload your scanned Passport-size photo (white background) and signature.
